Are you going to track your car at all? I had a less expensive set of imported zinc coated rotors on my C5 and for street use ONLY they were great. I used them for three years and the day I sold the car, they looked just like the day I installed them.
But, I do thank GM for coating the rotors on the 2008's and newer to avoid the rusting of the perimeter and the hats. I do not feel the need to switch out my stock 2008 rotors (Non Z51) because they do not rust ---- if they did I would make the same switch that I did before.
