It doesn't really matter how many miles the car has. If something is blocking the trap and I mean anything even during manufacturing that gets caught can cause mold and backup. If you get mold the problem will have to be treated accordingly. As aq previous post stated run the air conditioning on full and get a spray treatment from one of the national chains and follow the instructions. What happens to the smell when you run full heat - any worse? Only other thing I can think of is a critter made it's home somewhere in your ventilation system.

Other than the rude comments, the folks are trying to tell you to run your system and maybe use some Lysol or other disinfectant spray in the system and also change the cabin filter. This is usually caused by not allowing the A/C to dry out after use. Turn off the Air Conditioner a few minutes before getting to your stop. This allows the ice/moisture to dry up and minimizes the mold and mildew from building up.
