Quick question about the MGW shifter install

I have the MGW shifter that I hope to install tomorrow. I was looking at the shifter **** in my 2010 coupe earlier today. How do you take it off?

I have read on here about using a T15 tork driver to loosen a screw but the shifter boot goes right up against the shifter ****.

Any advice or instructions on how to remove the shifter ****?

At the base of the shifter **** there is a chrome collar there, just turn the collar until it stops, then slide it down until you can see the torq screw is visible.
