Default Squeaking Under Acceleration?

When I apply the gas Im hearing a squeaking noise, my first thought was the belt. But at 3yrs old and 19.5k mi it looks fine and is tight.

Could it be the tensioner pulley?

Why don't you check and see if the tensioner is WITHIN its adjustment limits! It is a visual check with the mark between the lines, if not, readjust.

There arent (or I didnt notice) any "lines". Its notched so it cant really exceed its limits without "popping out" of the groove.

Your not looking in the right place, look by your oil filler cap on the passanger side of the engine and you will see the belt and the tensioner WITH raised lines on it. I have a 06 C6 LS2 and I believe that is the same engine you have. I just looked at mine to best describe where to look. Good luck!

I went out after your first post and saw what you meant, thanks.
So where is the "in between" lines. Is it the first large gap (from bottom '0' to 1st line) or the second smaller gap (line 1 to 2)?
My tensioner is right about at the 1st line.

It is most likely the belt or the tensioner.

If you ever get squealing under acceleration, check your passenger as that is the most likely source.......

Sounds like groundhog day for me. Mine stated with a squeak then a day or so later a strange metal tapping at about 2500 rpm. A trip to the dealer revealed a loose balancer. Check yours. My car is an 06 wth the same miles as yours.

I had my harmonic balancer replaced under warranty. It was making some severe chirping sounds. Pay close attention to see how much it's wobbling. It had to get a little worse than this for the dealer to finally replace it, but now that it has been replaced, it's perfect. Maybe you have the same problem.

I saw that video too, thanks. Fortunately Im close with my technician so I dont think he'll make me come back. I read if its not addressed it only gets worse, why would your dealer make you come back, its inevitable you will!

Mine is being replaced as I type this.

At first they thought it was just my belt so they replaced that but the squeaking continued, and the squeaking was especially bad in cold and/or rainy weather. Husband took the car back and they didn't hear squeaking so they said it was okay (on a warm day). Not okay. When I took it back in yesterday morning it was squeaking like a banshee, and I drove in the service bay and revved the engine so that the squeaking could be heard by everyone in a ten-mile radius. I got out of the car, looked at my service guy and said, "Did you hear THAT?"

Is this another widespread problem with C6's? All I can say is, thank goodness I have an extended warranty!

Default Noise on acceleration

I had the same thing and turned out to be the serp belt, it accumulates coolant, and other oils from engine and starts slipping.
