Check gas cap??

I just got my 2005 C6 back from the dealer for some work needed. As I drove home, the DIC displayed "Check Gas Cap". Gas cap seems fine. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Unscrew it and screw it back on again and see if the warning goes off then.

There's a letter out on the 2005 cap. It's under warranty for 120,000 miles or 10 years from the original purchase date.

well...

Go to the dealer... it is free, if you have time to get the warranty done... if not.. a new cap is only $20 at the dealer... less than a minute to replace, no tools....

The dealer was probably siphoning your gas.

From the '05 OM:

CHECK GAS CAP: If the gas cap has not been fully
tightened, this message will appear. You should
check your gas cap to ensure that it is on properly.
Once tightened, it will take at least one overnight park
to reset or clear this message. If there is a CHECK GAS
CAP message and a malfunction indicator lamp on in
the instrument panel cluster, you may need to see your
GM dealer for service.
