I know.. Auto or manual ? If manual you'll need to change your clutch fluid, gets black fast...
Not necessarily. I have owned C5s and C6s for 12 years and have never had a clutch fluid issue. Never changed the fluid in the C5s and haven't changed it in the C6Z. No issues even with lots of track driving.
I changed the clutch fluid in my '08 at just over 6,000 miles. It was black. I'll do it again in the Spring. Just makes sense to keep the clutch working properly.

LC is manual only. Without attention, my fluid gets dark quickly. Though I have not had "clutch issues", I change it when it's dark.
Ya.... wheelhop and tons of spin, even on relatively gentle launches are the norm for the vette as for as I can tell... unfortunately I can't see how LC can change that
I am a total novice to drag racing and I don't understand totally what launch control is. I have seen the terms "dump the clutch" and "slip the clutch". What exactly does this mean? Do you let out the clutch as fast as possible, do you slip your foot off the clutch. Can someone, in detail, explain how to use the clutch and get off the line correctly.

Here you go, bud. Set car in comp. mode....nail the throttle, dump the clutch and haul a$$.

The best way to let out the clutch for getting off the line is kind of an art... and peoples methods vary. Dump means let it out as fast as possible, slip means pause in the engagement zone and allow the clutch to be partially engaged, and slipping for a while.
There's no one answer to the best way to do it, especially because the available traction is different on each surface and varies with tires, temperatures, etc.
In my experience with a stock car on street tires even slightly aggressive launches lead to massive wheelspin and the car is quite difficult to launch hard (i.e. get a good 60' time) your experience may vary
LC is a system that helps you dump the clutch at something around 4000 rpm (by acting as a temporary "rev limiter" at that level), which will certainly get the tires spinning violently, then the computer cuts power in an attempt to get them to stop i.e. it acts as TC does. I can see how this could be fun, but I can't see how it could lead to good 60' times... But I haven't tried it so I am speculating.
