My 05 A4 3/15 Z51 cannot get hooked up at all in 1st. Any WOT under 40 mph results in a shift to first and instant wheelspin, followed by the rearend coming out, traction control and a scared look on my face. The cooler weather is of course making it worse. From a dig it's worse, as soon as I get past 75% throttle it starts spinning anytime until is well into second. If I go WOT just before the 1-2 shift the shift will spin the tires hard.
My tires are relatively new, 4K miles on them, stock runflats. I'm thinking I should have bought a MN6 like I had in my C5, I could control the car better.
Seems I'm only able to go WOT when going 50+ to ensure the rear ends not going to try and pass me up.
Is this common or am I just a huge puss? Or both...
I have no idea how to get this car up to 60 as fast as possible without spin and worrying about the rear coming out. Hate to buy new tires just so I can get out of the hole quick. I can't imagine how you guys with 500+ hp get your car rolling.

You have one of two options:
1) buy new tires
2) control the traction by controlling your right foot
I've got Nitto INVOs on my car, they've lasted over 6 months now (since I got my supercharger installed) and still have tread left. It will make a night and day difference for you. You can fit 305/30/19 on stock rear tires.
Cold tires, cold pavement and cold air are a reciepe for an off the road experience. If the car is supercharged (?) the magnitude is compounded. In cold conditions, my proCharged C6, mn6, will spin my PS2's by rolling into the throttle at 80 mph in 3rd. If I hammer the throttle in 3rd, it will take the car off the road. When Michelin says extreme performance summer tires, that's exactly what they mean.
