A couple of weeks ago I got the car washed, hand washed. When I got the car back I noticed a piece of molding angling into the viewing area. The drivers side had that molding edging the glass but near the roofline the end was exposed and could be easily snagged by a passing cloth.
I confronted the car wash and said it was not broken and loose from larger molding when I came here. They say they are only responsible for the cost of the wash. I get a coupon for a free wash and go to the dealer.
I look at a Vette in the showroom before going to my service writer. The one on the floor had the ends of this strip under another piece of molding. The service writer looks and says damage from carelessness. I get a little loud about the one on the floor being build differently. He gets his boss and both sides were replaced. I have seen the exposed end on other Corvettes so mine was not the only built that way.
Mine was built the same way and it snags when I clean it. Soooo the moral of the story is you should return your free car wash coupon as you didn't deserve it
I don't think it is a new part. The dealer replaced both side and assembled it with the ends under the larger upper molding like the current Grand Sport convertible on the floor. There are no exposed ends to tale a picure of.
I could take a pic of what it is now. l will take an after photo for those that can't easily see other vettes.
WRONG! The real lesson is wash your car yourself. Until that time, please relinquish your Man Card.
Extremely strict water rationing in San Diego. You are allowed to water your lawn 3 times per week 7 minutes maximum per watering. Cars are to be washed with recycled water, I don't have any. I do consider all of the water in the world as recycled, many times.
Anywhere in the Midwest. As a substitute, you can come on over and help in snow removal right now. It's a mess. Oh - and anyone who's in the "why don't you drive your Vette all winter camp" I encourage you to come over as well - if you can get here.

But I still can't figure out the OP problem, does someone have a "good" and "bad" picture?
The side edge molding of the "A" pillar on the windshield were it ends at the top of the windshield cross molding sticks up and slightly over the molding. My 2006 coupe had the same problem on both left and right side. I went back to the dealers and we checked all the new Corvettes on the lot and every one of them had the same top edge sticking up. This problem even appeared on the 2009 models. It appears that the molding should have been cut shorter or installed under the top cross molding. I have not looked at the 2010 models yet to see if the problem remains.
I took an emery file and removed the sharp edges from mine.
If you can see the end of the innermost vertical piece of windshield molding it is not installed correctly. Mine now has what appears to be a manually made relief where it crosses the identical horizontal strip then tucks under the larger horizontal molding.
