carbon fiber dash kits

Burning Brakes
I ordered a GM matte carbon fiber dash kit from Fichtner on Thursday. Should have it installed by Wednesday at the very latest. This is a GM accessory and I had a very hard time finding one. (Not a glossy 08 carbon console with chrome rings.) As soon as it arrives I will install it and post pictures.
When I was test driving 08's the carbon dash was the first thing that I noticed. It was impressive.
When I test drove the 07 Z06 that I bought, the first thing that I noticed was the grey dash and it was not impressive. Needless to say, I am looking forward to this mod and also a padded Z06 console lid.

I am sorry that it took so long to get these posted. I ordered a less expensive matte carbon piece that looked worse than the stock painted dash and it didn't fit. (thankfully)
This piece is part # 20807154. Ebony carbon, 2008 console. (OEM) I bought it from Bob at Fichtner whom is a pleasure to do business with.
A couple af comments;
1. Every time I test drove an 08, the carbon dash REALLY stuck out and looked REALLY nice.
2. When I test drove the 07 that I bought, the painted, cheesy dash REALLY stuck out in a BAD way.
3. I read comments that these carbon dashes change the whole look of the interior. I was skeptical, didn't want to spend that much $$$ and also want to keep things original. This piece IMO is well worth the money. It does change the whole look of the interior. My stock dash was silver (a light color) while this piece is a dark color. This could be the reason for the "change the look of the whole interior." Regardless it did and it looks MUCH better. Form light to dark is a good change and really, I think that it is the shiney carbon that looks so much nicer. I didn't want the chrome rings, but they really look good too.
4. I thought that if I changed the dash I would want to change all the other trim too, which can cost easily over $1,000. This is plenty of carbon for me.
I ordered the Z06 leather lid and that is a HUGE improvement too. (What were they thinking with that plastic?)
Lastly, some suggested orange, but I used a red Sharpie for the stitching and it looks as OEM as the stitching on my seats!

Have you checked out this website. These guys make some cool stuff if you like carbon fiber.

Here's a few pics off their site. It looks like you can get pretty balistic with their stuff.
Personally, I like the looks of the Titanium Carbon Fiber.

That is exactly what I am trying not to do. I believe that their C2 carbon is a very near match to GM's carbon. (pictured in my car) I wouldn't mind buying the trim pieces around the DIC on the left and right, but they are overlays and I want to keep all original parts.

I did the 08 console, and have real carbon fiber around the climate controls, radio and ashtray. Then 08 carbon match steering wheel spokes, door release bezels, shift cap and e-brake button.

How long did it take to color the stitching with the sharpie? Can't you buy this console with the red stitching that matches the seats from Apsis or DSV? Or, is it cheaper to go with the way that you did?

I know this is extremely old but I'm hoping somebody could help me out. Where did you get the carbon fiber to cover the Nav, climate controls and the ashtray?
