is there a way to adjust the headlight aim? since I lowered my car they seem to point lower than before...Rather than raise the front of the car up I figure I would just adjust the headlight.
Yes, you can adjust the up/down only...not side to side. There is a hex (allen) screw on each side of the car under the hood. As I remember, it is a six mm size. Look at the inside of the fender near the hood hinge and you will see the conical indentation which holds the screw. The hole is about 3/4 " in diameter and corresponds to the rear edge of the headlight unit.
The service manual has a procedure to properly align the lights, using marks on a wall.
It is slightly more complicated than launching the Space Shuttle.
Instead, I recommend getting a friend or better yet three friends with fairly new C6's. Check tire pressures, etc on all cars before starting. Find a large flat parking lot that's dark at night and preferably facing a nearby blank wall. Park the cars side-by-side and start doing comparisons, adjust as necessary. Be aware that the pavement will always have small ripples that throw off the aim a little, move each car a couple of times during the process.
It's a PITA, but easier and probably better than the procedure in the manual.
a pro can do it with a pointing tool, they will think you have a "fix-it" ticket and will want to charge $75 to $100, find an honest shop and it will be alot less
I pulled in front of my Garage Door and turned them to where I wanted them to be. Then road tested it and all is good. About 5 minutes and no mechanics hands touched my car.
