sorry for the long post/rant...after reading many posts about premature tire wear due to factory alignment, i took my '08 to a highly recommended local shop at about 1400 miles...had the car on a rack for an oil change recently, and noticed the inside edge of both fronts worn way too much (now have about 11,000 miles on car...base suspension)...took it to the dealer ("we've never actually aligned a corvette before, but the tech thinks he can do it"), then, to another local shop ("we don't work on corvettes"), then finally to another local shop which did the alignment (this shop was not recommended by local club members, but the computer print out looks good)...its too late for these tires-may get another 5k out of them...when i have to replace 'em, i'm gonna want to get the alignment checked again...i'm in wilson, nc...any suggestions for a good alignment shop in the area? (greenville, raleigh, etc)...thanks
Jeff Gordon Chevrolet in Wilmington. I get all my work done there. Keith is a Corvette mechanic, the only one that works on my car. I've never had to pay for anything as it's all been covered under warranty! I even did an alignment and it turned out great! Good luck!
inside tire wear,,, the front tires are "toed out" or the camber to far negative. I would look to the camber as being your issue because usually tires get toed in too far not toed out. paul

.....and if it is toed out to any extent, it would be a bear to drive in a striaght line. Car would dart all over the place.
