Corvette engineers have built in a lot of nice ergonomic features in the C6 that allow the driver to adjust things the way he/she likes it. With the 3LT package I got the memory buttons that return the power seat, the telescoping steering wheel, the mirrors, and even the radio channel to one of two presets.
The one thing I can't change is the height of the brake and clutch pedals. Variable pedal height is an option on some other cars, and would be a welcome option on the Corvette. I have longish legs and it's sometimes a bother when my feet get tangled in the pedals getting in & out. It would be great if, when I push the "Exit" memory button, the pedals would retreat all the way to the floor. My girlfriend, with much shorter legs than I, would like to be able to set the pedal height closer to the seat. Simply running the seat all the way forward isn't enough.
Would anyone else like to see adjustable pedals as an option?
I guess I'm close enough to aveage height (5'9") that it doesn't matter to me. mrs.savewave has owned a number of vehicles with adjustible pedals and we never used the feature.
Adjustable pedal sets don't allow the pedals to be further away than 'stock' -- they only move them closer to the seat, so it's only an advantage for shorter drivers.
Every car I've ever been in (including the C6), the clutch pedal was on the floor at full travel, so I don't see how making them adjustable would move them any further away.
I would absolutely pay more for adjustable pedals as an option. I am reasonably comfortable in the C5 but with 36" inseam, I need more leg room: thinking about a C6 grand sport.
