This questions ALWAYS creates a BIG fight here on the forum. I have an Escort 9500i and just love it. The onboard GPS that allows you to lock out false signals works perfect. If a new signal from the same location shows up, the Escort alerts you. The range is excellent and it is easy to use. It seems the only thing the V1 guys EVER brag about is those darn arrows! I myself really don't care what direction the signal is coming from, I just want to know there is one out there. When one of those arrows comes on, the first thing you are going to do is start looking all over in that direction and taking your eyes off the road. Seems to be a big distraction to me.

Well stated and I agree.

You get a false signal and via the GPS, you lock out that signal. If you drive through the same area and there is a NEW signal (like police radar), the Escort alerts you to this new signal.
GPS location + false signal locked out = no alert
Same GPS location + new (different signal) = alert
The police radars are not using the same signals as store alarms, garage doors and such, so it works perfect.
I have one location in particular that I have locked out because of a store alarm system and there have been a few times an officer is sitting in the parking lot using his radar and my Escort picks up his signal every single time! If he is not there, all is quiet when I drive by this location.

Well that is an incorrect statement as you seem to not understand how the Escort works nor did you read my post above.

Do any of y'all run a LIDAR detector concurrently with a radar detector? And which gives you the best bang for the buck..lidar detector or radar detector?

I have the 9500ix and a Laser Interceptor system installed.
I was going 45 in a 35 when the 9500 lit up with a laser alert. The LI system kicked on at the same moment and about 150 yards up the road I saw a partially hidden motorcycle officer with his laser gun.
I doubt that he would have bothered with me but it is nice to have that warning.

I wanted fewer false signals. I don't need to look at arrows to know that the signal going off is the Walmart front door. On the third pass of the Walmart the detector logs the frequency and location (via GPS) and stops giving an audible.

V1 all the way IMO. The range rocks and the arrows let you know where the signals are coming from which is great for multiple speed traps etc.

making a trip first. So i ended up seeing a 39.00 dollar Cobra at a truck stop. Cashier said the truckers like them. It did the job. Range could be better but it is longer than the cop radar. You need to react quickly. The falsing
clearly shows as x band. Light signal showing a 1. If a cops hiding in the parking lot. He's going to show up quickly because of the different
band and stronger signal. I just bought another for 65.00 marked
down from 150.00. It has a full mile range which is perfect. I don't want to know about a radar five miles ahead. The full mile is perfect.
Goes off and about 30 seconds later you see him coming, a little longer if is he's sitting. Just used it on a another 4000 mile drive.
Just these will save you. I never drive without one on now.
