Default new headers

Got my American Racing headers installed by East Texas Muscle Cars Tuesday. Wow, what a difference they make. Stephen and Chris are super guys to work with. Car initially made 326 hp and ended up with 366 hp. Much better sound too with basically no drone.

WOW 40 HP with a header install, that's really good!

Enjoy.

it's to bad you did'nt have it tuned first, you probably would'nt have spent the$ on the headers, most of your Hp gain was the tune

I did have a tune first. Now I have a re-tune. The difference is like night and day.

Stephen is really good at everything he does. I've seen some of his projects and he does a great job and is very dependable.

Most of my HP gain was from headers. My tuner ran the car for about 30 minutes to check for leaks, alignment, etc. The tune fattened the torque curve, and did raise the hp by 8 or 9. I saw this with another owner that did the self install and had to wait 2 weeks to get to the tuner. The majority of the gain was from the hardware if the car is allowed to do some self adjusting of AFR...
To OP, nice gains on what appears to be a very stingy dyno. Enjoy your new found power..

You are correct, the biggest gain is the headers, the tune just fine tunes it! and yes usually about another 7-11 hp

and the new sound from the exhaust is amazing. Everyone that hears it says it really sounds good, and virtually no drone. It now sounds like a real muscle car.

Again, thanks to Stephen and Chris.

Thanks...yes to answer your question. Major difference in acceleration from before and after. Not sure the tune was right before the install or just what it was, but now it accelerates must better than before. A definite improvement.

When I had a base c6 the headers and tune made a HUGE difference. However, with the Z06 many say headers are not necessary. I wonder if that is true.
