Default 4'' lip wheel

just ordered new 19/20 wheels for my c6

and there is option of 3.5 inch lip on the back on 13 inch wheel, and this will clear big brakes.

or 4 inch lip and it will not clear big brakes

i dont think i want to go big brakes in the future for autocrossing, and some times road racing for fun , i hear stock and other brakes would work just fine

i will be autocrossing on stock c6 wheels also

but just in case if i would want to sell them i afraid it will not sell as easy as if they would clear big brakes, so they could fit z06.

any suggestions? any photos of 4 inch lip on c6 or 3.5 on a Z

Thanks

If you think you are going to put z06 brakes (soon or in the future) on then get the 3.5 otherwise id go 4, the deep lip is amazing looking.

What type of wheels are you ordering? With a wheel that wide in the back i hope you have the z06 wide body too!

Are you talking about the lip where the center piece is bolted to the inner and outer rim on a 3 piece FORGED wheel or the offset? I haven't measured mine...

These are sized for big brakes so when I trade up for my GS, they'll fit. They're 20 x 9.5 (285/25/20) front, and 21 x 13 (375/20/21 (reaar) Modular 01's wrapped in P-Zero's!!

Take it from Me,,,,,I had I-forged wheels and My rear lips were almost 5"s
Looked nice,,but I "did" want big brakes{no way},and when it came time to sell them,,,it wasn't as easy as it would've been with 3" lips!!
Get the 3-3.5" lips.

Once you put those big wheels and wide fenders on the car, the stock brakes are going to look absolutely puny.

And you already know resale on a large/wide wheel that won't clear big brakes is much less than one that will fit.

Not worth the extra .5" IMHO.

That's what she said last night!

Stock brakes on 19/20's...or 20/21's look !

Big wheels, more power, little brakes. What's wrong with this picture?

Regarding the linked thread:

Perhaps with a 4" lip on a 13" wide, 20" diameter wheel the offset necessary to clear big brakes places the tire close enough to the fender that it will hit during suspension compression unless you add quite a bit of negative camber to get the tire to 'tuck in' under the rear fender.

You should check with that manufacturer for details.

You can also call CCW Wheels, I have their T10, 19X13 wheels w/345/30 tires and have no premature wear or clearance issues requiring substantial negative camber.

I'm running the OEM alignment specs with no problems. Continue your search, you'll find that 13" wide rears are a common setup.

And, I've never measured the lips on mine, doesn't really matter to me, but they look to be 3-3.5".

That 1/2" will make so littel difference and with your new big wheels your brakes will look very tiny spoiling the look.

Also, the base car and Z06 wheel offsets are different - your wheels you are getting for your base C6 may not fit the Z anyway...

Why in the world would you install big brakes on the front only? That makes no sense at all. You are doing this over a lousy 1/2 inch more lip??? You really need to re-think this whole wheel thing. I have a base C6 with a 3.5 inch lip on the back that will clear big brakes. When I get home I will post a picture.

I also don't see how your going to fit a 13 inch wheel on a C6 unless you have the wide booty or have the car tubed. Most wheel companies will only go with an 11 inch rear wheel in stock C6 form.
