I apologize for your troubles that you are experiencing. I would suggest contacting the dealership to have the problem looked into. Dealerships are paid for warranty work and if you believe the dealership is not giving your vehicle the attention it deserves, please let me know. I will be happy to look into at that time.

Wow, thanks. I'll bring it into my dealership as soon as possible.
Called my local dealership, tried to schedule an appointment with the service department. I asked the representative if he had dealt with the issue before, and he said yes. He asked me if the car was stock, and I told him yes, aside for the exhaust. I asked him how long they'd need the car for and he said he doesn't know, he'd have to diagnose it first. He also said that they need the car for a day before they do any repair work to make sure it isn't due to abuse? Should I even be asked that question? Also, exactly what constitutes abuse? This is a Corvette, it's designed to be driven fast. I'm contemplating on whether to take it to that dealer or search for a different one, but there aren't many in my area (long island) and the only other local dealer gives me the impression that they've never touched a Corvette before, because it's a pontiac / GMC dealership...
The transmission is of a constant mesh design. The gears are fully engaged at all times. The syncro's do the work and they will get worn. If the cones are not matching the speeds, the syncro's will grind when trying to engage.
Yes that is correct but dont the shifter forks touch the gears? I remember my tranny had a broken shifter fork and it looked as if the gearset was wearing into it as well as chipped off one ends of the fork. All I remember was that the tranny fluid was dark grey. The mechanic who rebuilt it said the fork was worn like that from exteme over-travel. Had I known then what I known now I should have changed to a shifter with pos-stop bolts.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment about a Nibble or grate type noise that may also be described as a multiple bump feel during 1-2 upshift event while the transmission is cold.
Recommendation/Instructions:
A new transmission synchronizer design was released for the 2008 and 2009 models listed above. The new synchronizer will make a noise when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear in temperatures at or below 32 degrees F.
This noise/feel is a normal characteristic and will go away after the transmission warms up. Warm up should occur after approximately 15 miles of normal driving. This condition requires no repair by the dealer.
The service technician should test drive the vehicle to verify the concern. If the noise/feel goes away after the warm up no repair is necessary and the customer should be advised accordingly."
I left my car at the dealership for four days. I'm going to pick it up in a little while. They told me that since they couldn't duplicate the problem, they can't take the transmission apart because they feel there's nothing wrong with it. I told them they won't be able to duplicate the problem because it only happens from time to time... So they said that when the issue becomes so bad that it happens with nearly every shift, then I can bring it to them and they'll warranty it. If that were the case, it'd mean the transmission was completely shot. So basically they can't do anything until the car is not just a little broken, but completely broken? I don't know what to do.

The C6 has internal stops so I heard.
The shifting forks ride in a groove in the syncro HUB. The syncro cups are keyed into the hub and engage the cone on the gear. This action locks the gear to the shaft throught the syncro hub. and correct,, these are contant mesh transmissions,, the gears on the main shaft are meshed with the lower gears on the layshaft and are constantly spinning ,, the syncro hub is what locks the chosen gear to the shaft, No really,,, its true
