It is a recall on 6,093 '08-'09 convertibles for a very simple clamp that holds the front of the top to the frame. Apparently one, or some, came off at over 100 mph...... It is no big deal, I still haven't gotten mine taken car of yet. Here's the original notice:

Nothing concerning. It obviously had a dead battery, plenty of cars experience that but you "may" need to consider a Battery Tender if not going to drive the car for more than a few days. And the power window regulator TSB I'm not familiar with, don't recall seeing anything about that.

POWER WINDOW / REGULATOR CONCERNS - REF. TSB 08-08-64-001

BATTERY CHARGING AND TESTING

ROADSIDE SERVICE (BATTERY/JUMP START)

Edit: Just researched the window regulator thing. It's related to the window index/continuous up/down syndrome and involves the replacement of the exterior door handle switch. Again, no big deal.

Not sure what the mileage is now but appears tow in for battery was back a year ago and no listing for a reoccurring issue under warranty. No other major issues shown - should be okay based on this information.

As others have said the top retainer replacement is a warranty/recall issue and having it done is good. I had mine done, probably a five minute job.

And bad batteries are the norm lately it seems so having a replacement done under warranty should be a good thing.

I would get down and check the rocker panels to make sure there are no cracks. That's something few folks probably do when looking at a used or new Corvette (I know I surely didn't know back then to do this) that should be part of the "walkaround".

I noticed GMVIS lists the "skip shift" as an option... Hmmm do non-US spec Corvettes not have this bullchit on them?

It's just a solenoid in the transmission that forces you to go from first to fourth gear (skipping second and third) based on certain conditions.

They are common on V8 equipped manual trans cars; they are usually used to allegedly help the vehicles meet USA EPA fuel economy standards. Cars that don't meet certain standards get "gas guzzler" taxes.

They are a minor annoyance that can easily be bypassed/circumvented. In the C6 Corvette they/were are barely noticeable for folks like me who drive for mileage most of the time.

Good luck with the purchase if you choose to buy. Do you know the difference in option packages (1LT, etc.)?

BTW I LOVE my 2008 convertible!

I do not put much stock in those checks. The one for my STS says the Nav was replaced, it was not the battery was replaced. Nav never had an issue

Sounds like a sweetie, triple black? You need to give it the Wolfdogs treatment with lots of Zaino to keep that shine!

It can be done by a simple resistor fuse replacement or you can by a "skip shift" bypass that plugs in between the solenoid in the transmission and it's connector.

I made the fuse for about $4, and it works like a charm thanks to the good advice of LERES here on the forum. There's probably a link in C6 FAQ's to the Leres Fuse thread.

I PM'ed you back. Seems like a sweet deal...

BTW on those autochecks/carproof/carfaxes. For some reason they are against the rules here. And a 2009 would likely not have any history yet since the reporting is not real-time for those aftermarket databases.
