Default Need Help with Purchase!

Folks,
I've been out of the loop for a couple of years (had to sell my 2007 coupe due to divorce), but I'm hoping to get back into the car I love very soon. Going to see a 2006 Lemans Blue coupe tomorrow with 36K miles. It's a 3lt, z51 package with nav. The owner is asking $26K. He said he hit a concrete median in a parking lot and his air bag deployed. Said the car was repaired at a chevy dealership and he has all the paper work on the car. He is the original owner. I ran an autocheck and it states that there was an accident and it was the car hitting a median and the air bag deployed. The pics look good. If the car looks good in person and drives well, what do ya think? Thanks for your opinion.

The price certainly reflects the circumstances . . is it still a clear title or salvage ?

I guess the first step is to get it inspected, see if it's square and will align properly . . .

I personally wouldn't. It's a great time to be in a market for any corvette. Unless u can knock more off the price and it all checks out fine.

Too many Corvettes out there to buy one involved in an accident. Make sure you look at it closely during the day, remember that the factory warranty including powertrain is gone. I would personally go with at least a 2007 for the 100k powertrain warranty or 2008 up due to the NPP option and the LS3.

Thanks folks! You helped me keep my feet on the ground as I checked out vettes to purchase. I found one and am making it my own. Just purchased a GM certified 2006 Black coupe with the 3LT package, chrome wheels, and the Z51 package. It only has 9000 miles on it and one owner. I pick it up next Monday (25th). I'm so excited!!! Will post pics after I get it. Dreams do come true!
