Weather is of course a concern so if you don't have another reliable vehicle then flying is the way to go. However, airlines won't get my dime if I can avoid it. Baggage fees, check in fees, seat preference fees, security lines, questionable maint practices by certain airlines (one was just fined millions last year for not doing inspections). For the cost it was cheaper for us $225 RT per person x 3 or about $200 in gas and that was with my Yukon XL Denali.
Keep an eye on the weather though if you only have the Corvette.

The weather and if you have another vehicle should be your main concern.
Example; It takes me about 7 hours to drive from Nashville to New Orleans, give or take.
The same trip, flying, can take 8 hours by the time I arrive at the airport early to check in, etc, etc, security checkpoints, blah, blah, make a connection, wait, blah, blah...
Frankly, I'd rather drive.

To the op if the weather is right on your travel days I would totally drive. I hit L.A. from South Jordan (right across from you) in about 10 hours at normal speeds in decent weather. I actually have driven back and fourth pretty much all four seasons and even through the storms it took me about 11 hours max.

And I agree, do the drive. I've done it many times, 10-12 hours depending on stops & Vegas/LA traffic & road construction.
For a 1,000-mile trip, air travel nowadays isn't much of a time- or cost-saver for me:
-- 1 hr packing for carry-on only
-- 1 hr drive to airport & satellite parking
-- arrive 2 hrs early for shuttle, walking, security lines, food, etc.
-- 1 hr flight delay {insert p.c. reason}
-- 2 hrs actual flight time
-- 1+ hr rental car & ground transport to destination
Anyway, I hate waiting in lines & being crammed into a tiny seat & getting sick from germ-infested airplane recirculated air. And raise your hand if you've ever had to sit next to an overweight, burrito-belching, swine flu-infected, hygiene-challenged fart-machine with carry-on souvenirs from a 6-country vacation.
Enjoy the drive!
