Default CorvetteFever feature car. . . ?

I just got my March issue of CorvetteFever Magazine. The car on the cover is a C6 / Karvajal ZX-1. It's a production C6 with a Karvajal ZX-1 Body Kit. Uh,, I don't know if it's that I'm getting older, or the fact that I've had a corvette since I was 18 which was a 1959 followed by five more of different years. But Folks, to me this thing is just plain "Butt Ugly" This is like cloning some of a New Camaro, and some artist renderings fused into one.

Maybe it's the fact that EVERY single car today has those 'Cats Eye's' headlights. Or the fact that I personallly thought the C-6 was a pretty standout beautiful Corvette save for the C-5 (Only because I own one) But to address a larger question, Where did automotive stylist's talent go? If you ever read "All Corvettes are Red" and you can get a feel for designer John Cafaro and his team went through to bring forth the 1997 C5 Corvette. and that was a huge undertaking that it seems that the only automotive stylist are fresh out of Trade school.

Anyway, If you get a chance to visit CorvetteFever's website, you can see it or if you subscribe to CorvetteFever and see the car on the cover, Let me know what you think? JMHO, this could of been better styled than this Ugly fat slug of a Corvette. It's not a Callaway and is sure isn't Chip Foose creation. It's uh, just ugly !

I haven't recieved that issue yet, but i'll keep an eye out for it. In the good old days new car designs happend every year. Some were great, and some not. But, at least most had style and you could tell them apart. I still believe that a well designed car sells. But nowadays, if the design is any good, they keep building them year after year after year. I guess it cost too much to make any major changes.

Well from that same book, (All Corvettes are red) the C5 cost about $250 million by the time it got into production. That's with all the start up's and put on hold for seven years tilll 1997. Which at the time was considered cheap, as Ford had just spent 9 billion redesigning the new Taurus ? I only know what I read from the few automotive magazines I subscribe to. I should say by now, I sick of seeing all the 'Cats Eye headlights, but that's just me personally speaking.

saw it as well and agreed, that is not an attractive car. Especially the treatment over the rear wheels. Reminded me of someone slapping some aftermarket fender extenders from a truck, and painting them. Back window treatment as well, just didn't work for me.
Couple of pieces on the interior looked nice, but I'm not into the diamond look on that console. All in all, a lot of money for something that just looks none to classy, at least to me.
