They're supposed to. Headlights off equals brighter ambient light, so dash lights are bright. If you want them brighter with lights on, rotate the dimmer switch and hold it till the dash lights are the intensity you want. One way is up and the other down, don't remember which, but the longer you hold the **** in that direction, the more the change.

The **** for this feature is
located on the left side of
the instrument panel.
Push the **** in to turn on the interior lights.
Turn and hold the **** clockwise to brighten the lights
or counterclockwise to dim them. During the day, this
**** will adjust the instrument panel brightness and
at night will adjust all interior lighting.
Be sure not to have this **** turned all the way
down with the lamps on during the day. Your Driver
Information Center (DIC) may not be visible.

I have a C5 ZO6 and a C6 vert,both with HUD With the C5 I can turn dash lites off at nite and just use HUD. The C6 doesnt let u turn dash lites off just down.Its something I miss. Those C6 dash lites are just too bright for me ,even on the lowest setting.Anybody got any ideas.
