Default Clutch

No way can I believe you needed a new clutch disc and some other parts at just 19,000 miles. The clutch slave, maybe, but not much else.
I had that happen on an Acura V6 I had. Got home by shifting via rpm match and just letting it stall out for the few stop lights I had to encounter. Changed it out myself.
Problem was the slave, nothing else, and the car had nearly 90,000 miles on the clock!! Sorry guy, but you got hosed on this deal. Perhaps you need to join a local car club and get to know some local mechanics. Someone you can call with issues like this vs. some going to a mainly for profit dealer....

AP, I can't imagine what happened to your clutch that would require 1700 worth of work. There are a variety of shops in the area tho. You might like to check on CF vendors in the SoCal region for work on your car in the future.
Yes I did see that but his profile says he lives in Chino

Hope this can be of some help. If you have a TSB, they may repair the car at their cost.

If this is not the problem you had you can search for more TSBs on your car. NHTSA

You can also file a complaint from this site. (By mail or phone)

Good Luck,

Ben, OH
This is just another reason I decided to stick with the good old A-4 on this car. I can get my shifting fun on my other car.

Sorry to hear all of that.............Many years ago when the Chevy parts guy started telling me about places that work on Corvettes ONLY, I knew to avoid Chevy service dept except for maybe oil changes.............so, I went to Guldstrands in Burbank. They can be meticulous. Or JD Corvette in Bellflower..............O course none of them are close but they do good work sooooo.............

Believe it or not "NO". It got rained on when the repair was complete because I didn't want to leave it at the dealers anymore. That is the first Vette that I've owned that got wet. Everytime I drive it I use a dust buster to get the dust off. Then I use a damp micro soft towel with detail spray to clean it off. Then after about eight to ten times after driving it I'll wax it. I don't mind cleaning it that often because it relieves the stress from work. I have a tv, dvd player, radioand cd player in the garage. It's my own little world out there and I'm in my own world when I'm cleaning it. It makes the stress of my job worth it to have the extra toys. I have a 2009 Camry (fixed up also with 20's, dvd player, ect...) as a daily driver.

Hmmm, no water wash, ever....constant dust buster use....then wax? Whatever works for you, I guess.

I always laugh at the "never rained on" idea people have about Corvettes. Of course, none of us has any real knowledge what weather these cars have dealt with when they are sent all the way to California on an open transport.

Same problem on my 2K Vert. Was going to replace just the slave @ 1200.00 I asked how much more for the plate and disc, 500.00 for a Z06 disc with no additional labor since they were in there anyway.

So the same 1700.00 for slave and disc. I did not however get the same treatment of the car. Inside the whole time and not a greasy print anywhere.
