Any suggestions for a good all performance tire (wear, traction, quite-smooth ride, handling) for the C6? I don’t race or drive in bad weather and I do not like the stock GY Eagles F1 EMT (can’t drive when under 40 degrees). Also not looking to spend 500.00 a piece Thanks. Fred
The Firestone run-flats are much better all around then the GY. Better traction, longer tread-ware, and quieter. Plus, they are a little cheaper.
I just don't think there is a exceptionally good all around run-flat. This is mainly due to the fact of being a run-flat. Much stiffer sidewalls.
Now if you don't care about run-flats, then there are several very good tires available.
However, if you are looking for an all-season tire, then you have to compromise on some of the handling you would get in a pure summer performance time. Some characteristics are mutually exclusive.
I installed the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP. Great all around tire, even in the cold.
Can you post up some pics of the Pilot Sport A/S ZP on the car? I've heard some people say they don't look very good due to them being a little narrower and having a rounded sidewall, but I've never seen them on a Vette.

I know the Wide Ovals are considered a "summer" tire... how do they handle in temps at or below freezing? I daily drive mine, so it sees some cold temps but ice or snow only as a last resort.

I ordered these as well for my 08 Coupe... Here is a pic that is on the Internet of one.....
I hope they are as good as people have said... Got the whole set for around 1300.00 with the road hazard warranty and they have a 45k mile warranty as well.
I of course don´t know about prices in the US - I´m driving Pirelli Sottozeros in the winter and Yokohama Advan Sport- way better than the original EMT.
Next tire will be the Michelin - just to see what´s better.
Mine is a daily driver with 58k on her. Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval runflats. You'll thank yourself when you save $600 over the Goodyear RF's. I have driven in plenty of days of 17 degree weather and plenty of rain. No snow though. Tirerack.com and it cost me $1000 even for all four.
I had a 2005 and now a 2008 coupe. I stayed with the Goodyear ASC Eagles and love them. I don't beat my cars and get approx 40,000 miles on them. The 2005 was sold with 130,000 miles.
