Default Red light on sun visor mounting pad

Does anyone know what the little red light on the passenger side sun visor mounting pad is for?
I have owned my 2007 C6 for three years the first of March and never noticed the light before this week.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Mood lighting!

It's just a small light to illuminate the center console area.

2007 owner's manual, page 171.

An ambient light is located in the passenger sun
visor clip. This light stays on while driving to
keep the cabin from being too dark.

And to add, it is not installed anymore. Think the last year was the late model 2007's. May be that a few 2008's got it, but I know my 2008 built in October of 2007 does not have it.

I guess I had better go back to the basics. I have been looking in the three volume shop manual.
Thanks for the info.

It's a hidden camera so chevrolet can watch you and tell when you do mods so they can void your warranty.
