Learned something new today on the forum, did not know you could purchase a CD Changer for the standard single disk CD radio. Also did not know that it mounted in the cargo area similar to the late model Camaro's, of which I had one with the changer mounted in the same area. Now the next question, does anyone have the part number for this puppy and maybe how much it might cost to purchase. Would appreciate any and all information available:

When you say cargo area, would it fit in one of the two cubby holes underneath the floor in the right and left rear corners of the cargo area?
My Changer (factory) in my 2001 convertible has died, and I need to replace it.
I've been looking at a JVC model (CH-X1500, I think) to replace it with. This changer will read MP3s - will that work? Plug & Play?
or can I change to another Pioneer model that will play MP3s?
I'm going to have to change the dead one out anyway, and I'd love not to spend $400+ and still end up with a technologically retarded CD changer....
Thanks!
Tom
"It is compatible only with JVC receivers with MP3-CD changer control functions" might be a sticky point. It also looks too large to fit in the cubby. I couldn't find anything that says what you need for an interface, but go back to the quoted statement.
My Stereo Head Unit does not support a NAV. system and I am under the impression that, if you do not have the NAV unit, this changer will not work, can you confirm that?
Thanks

That's my impression also. I have the same CD player as Paul and it controlled by the NAV screen.

It does appear that it requires the navigation radio.
