Default Mud guards

Have a 2008 JSBM and was thinking of putting mud guards on her. Driving around Boston is pretty hazardous. Anybody have them on?

Very popular mod here on the forum. I have them. By far the best ones out there are the ones from GM. Great place to purchase them is www.gmpartshouse.com

Stock C6 Splash Guards

19170234 – 2005-2009 Splash Guards – $105.00

These come as a complete set of 4 and we do not split up sets.

These fit all C6 models, except for Z06 as they have their own.

probably not a bad idea around our area. I am thinking of getting a set myself. If I do I think I might paint mine on the outside though. I like how the front can go on using existing pushpin locations. Drilling holes for the rear doesn't really bother me but if i ever decide I don't want them I will still have to leave the plugs in the holes.

Can someone advise me if the 2010 Grand Sport comes with any type of mud guard? I have a GS ordered and would not want to drive it home from Bowling Green without the mud guards.

Thanks. That is good news. I have been looking at the many photos of the GS, but couldn't really detect if they had splash guards or not.

Only on the rear. The front is really what you need to prevent damage on widebodies. Search "APSIS guards" and you'll see alot of info.

Thanks for the info. I will check out the GM Front splash guards. I do like the ones from APSIS, but I agree with others, the $320 for two pieces of plastic is very high. Maybe someone has pictures of the GM Front splash guards on a GS or Z06?

Well techinically it does have them on the front. The ones pictured above are the same ones in this photo. The fronts on the Z06/GS don't stick out like the rears do though.

Here is a link to the APSIS ones people talk about. I personally don't like them as much especially the fronts. Maybe they protect a little bit more but they look twice as ridiculous imo.

The Grand Sport comes with rear splash guards but not with front splash guards. After reading on the ZO6 website it was clear there is a need for front splash guards.

The only company that makes front splash guards for a Grand Sport is Apsis. They run about $320. They match the rear factory splash guards so it is a very factory look.

I did a Corvette Museum delivery in January and had a 2,000 mile trip home. I shipped the splash guards to the museum so they would be there when I took delivery. I had them on within the first 50 miles. They worked great.

There are no front guards to speak of - they don't protrude beyond the body at all.

The APSIS guards look like the stock rear ones. Ask the Z06 guys what happens without them.

I still call them splash guards because:

1. They are not on any base model C6
2. If you buy the GM factory splash guard "set" as stated above that is what you get.

OK, they are splash guards that don't guard anything
