Default Frame Shop Request

I am finally getting around to fixing my '08 Z06 - I got in an accident at the track and the left front frame rail has a split in it. The car still runs and can drive around a parking lot - it held all fluids on impact, etc. The doors open and close fine and all the panels rear of the firewall are fine.

I brought the car to a collision repair shop in Marshfield, MA, which is owned by the brother of the guy who runs Slowhawk Performance, which I think is a forum sponsor. The place is called East Coast Collision, but they told me they didn't want to take on this project with the aluminum frame.

In any case, I think that this is the repair that needs to be performed: http://www.goodwrench.com/gmgoodwren...nt_Section.pdf along with http://www.goodwrench.com/gmgoodwren...int_Repair.pdf.

Can anyone recommend a shop in the Northeast who has experience and/or willingness to take this on?

Thanks for your suggestions...

Since Gary Hoffman (Hardar) is right in your back yard I would suggest giving him a call to see who he would recommend. Try seeing what a Chevy dealer may be able to do. My local dealer is very good at crash repairs and can do any of the recommended GM repair procedures. McMulkin in NH sells a lot of Vettes and may have some experience repairing crash damage on aluminum frames.

If you don't mind shipping the car a couple hundred miles try the guys at Phoenix Performance in PA. They track prep a lot of Vettes and have probably repaired a few cars that have had track damage.

The other thing you could do is talk to your insurance company's claim adjuster and see what shop they would recommend. They probably have a better idea of what shop's are capable of doing this kind of repair than a lot of other people. The company won't have any financial skin in the game so the adjuster won't have a need to steer you to the lowest price place.
