I am going to install a Halltech Venom intake along with the beehive this evening on a 2006 C6. Does the battery have to be disconnected before I unplug the MAF sensor and the PCV? If so, both terminals? Does the PCV remove easily from the stock configuration? Anything else that I have to be aware of? Seems simple enough but I dont want to miss anything. Thanks in advance!
YES, disconnect the battery first. that goes for ANY project under the hood b/c you could accidently slam into the wrong plug and short something.
You do not need to undo both terminals just one is fine.
take notice of the direction the maf is facing, there is a "flow" arrow that should be pointing towards the motor.
i dont know about the PCV job, someone else will chim in soon
the maf should not be able to fit backwards. there is a notch that fits the intake tub and is only there on one side. (think its the throttle body side IIRC)
i did not undo the battery, the only thing to unplu is the maf and it has to have the ignition on, to be powered so if you leave the car off nothing is powered.
but you can do it if you want to be "safe" but it has no power at that point anyway.
Yes the PCV is very easy to remove..Check out Halltechs website. They have a video of the install.. It's very easy and there is no need to disconnect the battery cable for the MAF or PCV.
Thanks for all your help guys, as long as UPS delivers as scheduled this will be this evening's project!
The MAF on the LS2 can be pretty tight.. Just be patient when taking it off and reinstalling on the Halltech, you may have to squeeze it in there.. I had a Venom on my 07..
All done, took a little over half an hour. tried to find some dry patches of road to test, not too many around, so I really could get to feel any difference from stock. Thanks for everyone's help.
