Default Winter mods almost complete!

UPS driver has been to our door so many times this Winter my wife is losing her patience. I promised her only 3 more deliveries to go (steering wheel spokes, Z51 sway bars, and GM splash guards).

Exterior: modified hood(plenty of discussion on this on other threads), painted brake calipers, jake chicklets, GS stripe, GM rear spoiler:

Decided to give the interior some color:

And the engine compartment got some bling:

When does the mod fever end???

Really NICE. Do you have a clear cover for the hood opening?

Looks like way more snow than up here - but they are calling for several inches to fall over the next few days.

Spring is close...........

Very nice.

Did you do the supercharger yourself, or have the work done. I am also in Minnesota and looking for someone to install on my 08 LS3.

Midwest C6, I highly recommend Doug Rippie for all upgrades: www.dougrippie.com. He is in Buffalo Minnesota, and has been at the Corvette game his whole life. His son Randy runs the front office, let me know if you want an introduction.

For those of you brave enough (STUPID) to consider cutting a hole in your hood, the results can be quite outstanding. Mine is a weekend warrior and does not see rain so that was not a consideration. But in case of unforseen unclimate weather, I was able to make the removed section available for emergancy situations:

Hey,

Man does that thing look awesome in the sun. The paint looks like glass. That stripe really looks awesome. I might have to come over and see what it looks like with a beer.

P.S.

I found your next UPS delivery....

Your mods have been done very professionally. It's your car of course and I must say first that , therefore, you can do anything that's legal for the street to it.

Having said that and meant it I really dislike what you've done. Now, don't anyone bother to tell me it's not my place to criticize. Understand, I'm NOT criticizing just stating my opinion having been shown the photos.

You want to cut a hole in your hood. It's your car. It's not my place to tell you it's a bad thing to do. I may think it is but that's only my opinion. My car's hood has no hole in it.

I must say, your hole in the hood idea does mesh with one of my two mods.....removal of the pointless "underhood mat" which is actually underhood sound insulation. I removed my within the first ten miles on the car. You've removed yours too...a plus for lower heat esp with that blower and the hole? Well, you WILL have a cooler running engine!

But, it's mods done at this level that make me surprised when someone calls a foul at the sight of swing away door mods on a C6....or some huge rear wing.....or colored lights or whatever......I mean, if you're going to cut a hole in the hood why not add a three foot wing and lambo doors?

Each to his own. I don't have to like it to respect the obvious quality with which this work was done and your obvious delight in the results.

Party on! ( but always carry your "hole cover" in case of rain )

Looks good. Very unique. My only comment would be to change the color of your rail covers. The yellow blends into the hood. If you want to showcase your engine, SHOWCASE your engine. Chrome or contrasting color or even CF. Just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. Other than that,

Dovervold,

I appreciate the heads up about Doug Rippie. Did he do yours?

Are you interested in taking a fellow corvette owner for a spin this spring so I can see first hand what the supercharger feels like, sounds like, etc.

I have been in his car....it's crazy fast. Don't do it unless you are ready to spend the money. The SC with the cam and corsas sounds amazing.

MidwestC6, it would be my pleasure to take you for a rip. Should give you some good ideas on where you want to go with your car. I did cam and headers first, then a few months later the S/C. Turned out the whole package worked perfectly! The rear tires spin right up to 70 MPH, what a rush! Yes, Doug Rippie did the mods. Drop me a PM when we get to late April and we can hook up!

Wait just a minute Doug. So a couple boxes show up from UPS and the wife is mad. Something tells me you have been up to something else. And the few packages are the icing on the top

Looks good and come see us this spring. Bring all your friends

Hey Randy,

Have you done a B&B Fusion exhaust on a Z06? If so, whats it sound like compared to the stock? I am looking for a little extra rumble with keeping my warranty. I also like the idea of the flappers like stock. I'd love to do a DRM H/C package, but I can't justify it cause my car only has 2k miles. Plus I am already coming to see you guys for the DRM shocks.

Thanks,

Kelly
