Cell Phone Pics of a Very rare Beautiful C3 427 Big Block Tri-Power

I have had two C-3's with 427's. Huge amount of torque at fairly low RPM. In the day they were one of the top muscle cars on the road. It is pretty rare to see a rat motor C-3 on the street, too valuable!

well...
They are Different... Like Pizza & Steak I like both, not sure which is better... depends on the day... Just like My C3 or the C6...
I really don't understand all the BIG concern about being under WARRANTY... my car has only seen the dealer twice... change rear diff. fluid, and replace Targa Top... Guess I got a good one... Do most people who own a Vette live at the dealer, fixing problems under WARRANTY? I hope not... AND my 1972 I drive all the time, anywhere, no issues, flip the key (yes a key) and go... It turns WAY more heads than any C6...

Is your 72 Corvette factory stock? Auto or 4 spd? fully optioned or no options?

well...
The car has stock exhaust, Edelbrock 650 cfm, runs like a dream, very easy to drive... and if you are at the track... it is a sleeper... for a very stock looking car. It has AC, Power Windows, Power Steering, 6 disk CD, Telecoping Steering Wheel, and Removable Back Window. Always makes me smile. Also raced My Son's 69 Camaro

It has a ZZ4 350 CI 350 HP roller cam... 4 speed stick ... AND it has 100 shot NOS for fun. Before NOS... I raced the 1/4 mile against my buddys stock 1969 427 390 hp auto... kicked his butt...with a 14.8. Now I can do a 12.9 in the 1/4 with Nos, on stock tires... Can't use Nos until I am planted in 2nd gear.

New performance cars in factory stock condition were no match for the old Corvettes in factory stock condition so the thing to do was buy an older car if you wanted performance.
A brand new Trans-Am that I almost ordered was $11,000+ from the factory with not many options. An older 65 and up Shelby Mustang GT-350 could be had for $5000+ A 70 - 73 Trans-Am could be had for $4,500 which in factory condition would be the 400 engine and 455 HO engine. Plus we still had leaded gas back then but the content of the lead was being diminished slowly.
The popular car of that day was the Camaro Z/28 which could be had for under $10,000 brand new. How times have changed.
Everytime I called on the Corvettes they were always sold. There were plenty of 454 and 427 factory Corvettes around too. $6,000 could get you any of these for this generation.
There were tons of 69 Corvettes around more than any other year un
like today. I should have bought at the time a beautiful well kept 68 Coupe (owned by an older gentleman) Turbo 400 trans with 327 engine with no options which also cost 6,000 but he wouldn't accept $5,500. Instead I bought a 72 454 auto coupe with options for $5,400.

But with that ZZ4 crate engine it is putting out more power than the factory 350 which was gross horse power ratings used back then. So I would say yours is higher performance than the factory stock 70.
What is the speed rating on those Dunlop GT Qualifier tires?
It looks like that Acura Integra next to you had the lead on you

Well the ZZ4 is a VERY good engine... Roller Cam, aluminum heads & intake... shaves weight, and never gets hot.
Speed rating... got me... but It only gets to a buck 20
And... yes the Acura needed a head start, to have a chance...

Top end on the ZZ4 Corvette is only 120 MPH? What's your rear end ratio? Figure those tires are at least good for 112MPH T-rating?
