I bought an 07 back in October and Im thinking about regular maintenance. I really dont have an independant in my area that I trust so I am stuck with using a dealership. When shopping around for a good one can someone tell me what I should be looking for. Are there Corvette certified techs?
If your doing oil and filter changes, You must have a Walmart in Haverhill Mass. I find their garage people to be conscientious and less expensive for Mobil 1 than any dealership. Be sure to tell them what your owner manual states for oil quantity and that you prefer AC Delco filters not Fram.
From: Currently somewhere in IL,IN,KY,TN,MO,AR,MS,AL, or FL
I would ask the kid who works at McDonald's to do the maintenance before I would go to any dealership I have been to in the past 40 years. Occasionally I am forced to go to a dealership and I'm always optimistic going in and disappointed coming out.
There really isn't much maintenance to be done. Oil changes every 10K or 12 months can be done anywhere. Changing air filters every few years is about as complicated as cleaning the ashtray. Have you read the schedule in your manual?
my 07 is 37 months old with 4,700 miles. maintenance schedule as follows: 3 oil changes (ready for 4th this spring), 4 washes. period. there is nothing else to do for me at this time and in the near future.

you have 4.7k miles and you've already done 3 oil changes??
thats alittle too often even if the car sits up for long periods of time

well, the first one was done @ 800 and then every 12 months just like GM wants for warranty. i certainly do not do this on my 15,000 mile avalanche (3 changes in 6.5 years). my CTS DD gets done as the DIC calls for or about 8,000 miles for the change.

How 'bout checking the tire pressure, coolant, brake fluid, etc., sounds like you haven't!

Mr danzan, Your within 30 minutes of the largest Corvette dealer in NE,MacMullkin. They have serviced my Z and other Vettes for 5 years with no complaints. A lot of repair facilities don't know how to properly lift these vehicles let alone work on them. Good example: My buddies Good year facility cracked the underside of my rocker panel with the lift arm by using the incorrect lift on my 06 coupe .Just a thought, you wouldn't bring a new Ferrari to "Town Fare Tire"

MacMulkin is an excellent suggestion. Although I do not have any personal experience with them I know they are well respected on the Forum and that they are Forum sponsors.
I would post a question in your region's sub-forum and ask for a reference for a good service writer to deal with and mechanic to ask for there. I did something similar for my area and it has worked out great.

of course i have . tires have always had pressure, dic states 31. the coolant overflow has the correct and clean level from what i can see. the brakes work and the fluid looks full from what i can see. transmission works and should then still have fluid. check
