I wouldn't walk away from that paint shop, I'd run. Anyone in the business know's Corvette's haven't had spare tire's since 96'. The paint code's the last number's on the glove box sticker. BC/CC(base coat/clear coat), U(upper), followed by the code, in my case black 8555. Stick a WA prefix and it's WA8555. Two tone car's will have an L(lower) code too. Call around to find a shop with a computer paint match system, as most don't have it. They scan you car's paint and usually come's out perfect. Factory pack's can sometime's be a bit off. Recently had some damaged panels replaced on my Pontiac daily driver with a compter match shop, and impossible to tell.
