Default Incessant Brake Squeak - common on Hawk HPS pads?

I recently switched brake pads to Hawk HPS performance on the fronts - they work great in terms of stopping the car at high speeds, but around town they squeak ALOT - I've taken them off again and put anti sqeak along the back of the pads - made sure they sit well in the calipers, cleaned the brake parts with part cleaner - still, sqeaking like crazy. Does this go away ever?

Most performance pads only work well at reducing high speeds, they need the high heat to work well. I think they will always squeek in bumper to bumper, or even just driving around type of traffic.

They will always squeek. For a daily driver I would personally not use them. I only put them on when I race. Make sure you warm them up before any sudden stops, they will not work as well until they are heated up. Good luck

If the squeaking bothers you then turn up the radio. Squeaking brake pads are a non-issue.

thanks for the info - good to know that it is normal on not something I screwed up. I'll deal with them as long they don't melt like the stock pair lol -

Did you bed them correctly?

Whenever mine start to have a slight squeak, I put them through a really good heat cycle and it goes away for a long time.

They are a bunch better than the Z51 oem pads.
