I had an aftermarket pioneer NAV installed last year with the backup camera option. I had the video cable and power cable run into the trunk awaiting me to install my own backup camera.
My question to everyone is: Has anyone installed a backup camera that they are happy with? If someone could point one out I would be grateful. Ebay has so many it is overwheming.
I am daydreaming about pulling my baby out of storage soon.
i have had 3 cars with back up cams. my fav place to put them is through the rear plate. i just drilled a hole in my plate through the texas and that way you dont mess up any part of you car.. just what i did..
It seems to me the ideal place to mount a rear view camera would be in the center of the brake light array in the rear spoiler. Of course that would probably mean replacing that spoiler with one with a camera built-in.
The Pioneer takes so long to boot up that by the time you get the camera to work you're already at work.
The Boyo camera is a good unit, but I ended up hardly ever usiing it. It would be nice if you could get a unit with a zoom feature to check on any blue lights sneaking up behind you.
I have a pioneer z3 with the back up camera installed just above the license plate in the holes near your plate lights. It has been on for the past 2 years with just the 3m double sided tape that it came with. You can tell it is there, but I don't mind.
