$$$65555!!!
I love me some LS3 and all, but $10K is $10K.

I would guess you might be able to find one at $7500-$8500 discount right now, for one priced at $65k.
So I lost the most $5000 in 3+ years...& no one can tell my car from an 09..it runs as well, & I'm happy with it + I think I saved a boatload of $$$....

$120,000.00+ ZR1s
$80,000.00+ Z06s
$65,555.00 grand sports
GM is going to have to concentrate on models in the price ranges which are going to stimulate people to buy if they want to sell Corvettes. And introducing a model with a price tag moving into the $65,000.00 range, while there is already an $80K plus Z06 and a $120K plus ZR1 in the lineup, in this economy, was not the way to stimulate sales. And the terriblr sales figures prove it.
There are many of us in here who can afford any Corvette we want, but GM is pricing this car out of range for too many people.
More accurately, they are concentrating too much on producing a $#** load of the high priced models and not enough on the more affordable ones.
They are making more grand sports at the BG plant, than anything else, and with prices approaching this range, already we have people right in this thread who say they will sit this one out. That's why there are about 1000 grand sports currently sitting on dealer lots unsold, because too many of them are priced out of the range which would encourage people to open their wallets.
Sales suffer as a result, and before you know it, the whole damn Bowling Green works will go down the drain, and there won't be any new Vettes to buy at any price.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Sure, it doesn't help if someone can not afford a 3LT optioned car, but there's plenty of new 1LT Vettes out there.
Can't blame GM if the dealers are ordeing fully loaded 65-70K cars to put on their lots

IMO it still has a lot to do with the economy and people not being able to finance like a few years ago.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with buying used and saving money.
Everyone has their limits and new isn't always the way to go.
But the economy has pushed a lot more people down into the not affordable range.
I looked at used ones for a long time but the price difference from used to new wasn't enough for me personally and bought new.
Prices go up every year but 12 months ago before the GS came out a fully loaded Vert still listed out at 70K.
It's the economy and what people are Not willing to spend their money on in tough times.
