NeedSolution to Sagging Floor Mats
A couple of years ago I bought a set of Lloyds' floor mats for my C6. I like them and am impressed with their quality. For some reason though the drivers' side mat (even though affixed to the anchor post on the floor) continues to "sag" or bunch-up at the point where it sits against the panel behind the pedals.
It's not interfering with pedal operation or anything, but looks pretty unsightly and is no longer proetecting the near-vertical service behind the pedals. I've taken the mats out and have hung them upside down for weeks at a time, but after a few days back in the car, they start to sag again.
This doesn't seem to be as much a problem on the passenger side as it is on the drivers' side, but I must tell you the anchor of the factory mats isn't working as well as it did for the originals.
Did I somehow forget to do something by way of the instructions provided by Lloyds?
Anyone else have this problem?

Les, he's talking about the part farthest from the hook; behind the gas and brake pedals.
But the "sag" with the mats where they become relatively vertical behind the pedals, not on the floor itself. Thinnk "gravity"
Please understand I am not complaining about the design or construction. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
For example, was there some velcro or double-backed tape in the package that I failed to notice?
Just imagine this: the floor mat on the drivers' side as you get into the car is flat - though appears to be a bit forward of where it ought to be as evidenced by the "cut-outs" for the seat rails are too far forward. That suggests to me the "anchor" for the original mats isn't working for the Lloyds (which has but a single tether) and allowing the horizontal part of the mat to move forward, yet not enough to push the part of the mat that covers the (slightly vertical) area behind the pedals to slide upwards. Therefore the horizontal part of the mats simply "bunches up" and causes this bulge at the junction of the floor and the panel that extends upward behind the pedals.
Now, remember - as I recall, that the floor mats that were supplied with the car only extended to the forward end of the floorboard and did not extend upward to the panel behind the pedals.
Geez, I hope you people aren't starting to think I'm traying to capitlize on the current Toyota issues. Be assured any acceleration in my Corvette is entirely intended and, in fact, greatly enjoyed. I just don't like the bulge in my floor mats at the base of the floorboards and the panel behind the pedals.
I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem - unless I've done something wrong in installing the Lloyds mats.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I have the "post" retainers and the mats snap on over the post very tightly. Too tight in my opinion. My wifes 2010 Malibu has the "hook" system and the mat stays in place OK. As mentioned in other post, you may have the wrong mats for the retention system on your car, which changed mid 2007 for the Corvette. I think the mid year production change caught LLoyd Mats by surprise. If you have the hooks and your mats are designed for the post retention system, the mat will not stay in position.
Mine are 5 years old (as of today) and still like new.

I assume your 07 C6 has the "post" system. So maybe you received "hook-system" mats?
Post system (May 2007 and earlier)

Hook system (May 2007 and later)

As of May 2007 GM changed their fastening system for Corvette C6's to a dual hook system (on the driver's side and single hook on the passenger side) from a post system that was used previously. To ensure your mats fasten in place correctly, please check your fastening system and choose the correct option before ordering...

on this one. Not knocking the vendor, or Lloyd (well, maybe I am...) but I bought mats for my 2006, and I constantly had to pull the suckers away from the go pedal, brake and clutch. YES, I had the right floor mount, but it wouldn't hold. It took several months for me to realize it wasn't me. Yeah, I should have complained earlier, but my '06 wasn't a DD, so only realized the problem every few months. Out of sight, out of mind.
Traded the '06 off. New owners have the good looking mats. After my 2006 experience, I'm sticking to the stock stuff. Don't show the car, and only my boot heels know the difference... And they don't care.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I thought it was just me!
