I've had my PAL and ipod going on 3 months and all was well until last night. Wondering if anyone has ever experienced this.
Rolling down the road and a song came on that I wanted to skip so I hit the skip button. The next song came on but the title display on the hud showed the previous song. I contined to press skip and the title showed the same as what I started with. In other words, it displayed the same title regardless of what song was playing.
I then stopped the car an unplugged the ipod. After reconnecting I got nothing. I disconnected it again and left it unplugged for about 30 minutes. After I hooked it back up again, it seems to be working like it should.
Does this sound like a problem in the making? Thanks.
I don't know enough about the PAL to know if this has anything to do with your issue but Ray Kawal recently posted about new software that solves lockup issues when "buttons are pushed too quickly".
Updated software is included to eliminate some issues with operation slowdown when using large format hard drive iPods (such as the 80 gb and 160 gb Classic) with large music libraries and also resolves some past issues with PAL lockup when buttons are pushed too quickly and overload the XM communication path.
I have a month-old 2010 Grand Sport. The dealer has installed three PALS and finally they got the 3rd one installed correctly (I think). I have experienced the same thing that you have had.
On disconnecting and waiting some time, I plugged the iPod back in and it worked fine. I plan on using a clue another poster gave, slow down on the button commands. -Clark

I run across this issue every couple weeks or so - probably from me hitting the skip button too fast - but I have found an easy remedy. When it happens, I just switch to XM1 and then back to XM2 again (two button presses), and then all is well again. No need to pull the ipod out or even stop driving.
