Bluetooth?
Hey guys! I just picked up a new Sierra 1500 and it has a beautiful blue tooth system for my cell phone. I thought GEE my 07 C6 should have the same type of system but I can't seem to find out anything about it. I look at the operation manual and their is no mention of this feature. Any help out there? Thanksed

Check this out. If you can live without OnStar and voice controls for the Nav system, you can have BlueTooth via the OnStar button.

It would be interesting to compare the wire diagrams of the 2008/2009 side by side and see how the bluetooth module was integrated. It's very possible that you could add this to an earlier model car. It may be something as simple as buying an upgraded OnStar module. Just depends on where/how they put the BlueTooth.

I traded my '07 coupe for an '09 1> to turn the A6 trannie to an M6 and 2> to get the Bluetooth.
I have no idea how the Bluetooth is integrated in with the rest of the electronics, but I do know that there are some idiosyncracies in the '09. First, the Bluetooth can only be operated with the buttons on the steering wheel and so far, none of the aftermarket folks have developed a harness for those Bluetooth buttons to work with aftermarket bluetooth nav systems. That is, if I added a Pioneer Z110BT for nav and bluetooth, those steering wheel buttons would become non-functional. I also know that adding an OEM nav, I have to have a model for an "09. OEM Navs from '05 thru '08 won't work with the Bluetooth.
I can't imagine that adding the Bluetooth is cheap if it is even possible. By the time you found the Bluetooth module, correct radio or nav, changed out the steering wheel and probably changed out the harness to the steering wheel to work with the buttons, you probably would have been better off just trading for a newer car that already had the Bluetooth. Just my $0.02. YMMV

I think I also read somewhere that someone is working on a BlueTooth version of the GM PAL. That might also be a good way to go once it becomes available.

On the convertible, the Onstar module is located in the right cubby behind the carpet. You can easily pry away the carpet below the cubby lid and access the module. I just read about the Costar Bluestar 2010 and it sounds like a winner to me. Getting ready to order it this afternoon. Anyone have any experience with this yet?

From your description, it sounds like the Bluetooth on the 2009 is part of the Nav unit. That would probably make it not a worthwhile venture to try to upgrade.

People way smarter than me determined long ago that trying to add the bluetooth to my 08 was not realistic. Ray K is working with people at the PAL and estimated this fall or so will have new PAL with bluetooth. So I am just waiting.

I put an AVIC Z3 in my '07 coupe last year with blue tooth module...steering wheel controls operate the functions of the unit. I can make calls using voice command...but need to touch the "phone" symbol to answer incoming calls.
