What can I say... I'm not a fan. One can learn to drive the car and avoid invoking this stupid feature, but I believe my first mod will be to get rid of it.
Tried to surf out to SLPonline and look for one (worked great in previous cars), but the website won't come up. Are they still in business ?
Blown led fuse, ABSOLUTELY. 7900 miles with no problems. No need to crawl under the car and have sh$%#t added. The led fuse allows enough leakage to fool the computers.
I also am a firm believer in the old school, NPP defeat on the dead pedal!!!
I tried the blown LED fuse, but it made the "check engine" light come on.
Me too. I first tried one of the blown LED fuses from one of the vendors on this website for $20 before I realized that it was only a blown fuse I could get for $4 for 2 at the auto parts store.
The only problem is that they may cause the check engine light to come on, as you have discovered. I cleared the code myself with my OBD2 scanner, but we really don't want to have to do that, and leaving the check engine light on all the time is not smart.
I wonder if it would be possible to hack a standard fuse and add a more powerfull LED so that the computer will 'see' a load closer to the actual load that a selonoid would present? The LED on the smart fuses we have used are really tiny. Anyone tried that?
