Sorry if this has been asked but I'm at work and can't search. I recently purchased a 05 dsom coupe and have been looking at under the hood matched painted items caps and frc but the are just atomic orange. From the pictures they look brighter orange and I don't pick mine up til Thursday. For those that have seen both in person how much difference is there and is enough to look way out of place on a DSOM Thanks for the help I'm new to the corvette world.
I love the color....would not have bought it otherwise. It does seem darker with red in certain light. I want to minor dress up stuff but only finding atomic orange parts. Ohwell

There were door handles, spoilers, license frames, and interior parts from GM. I had them on mine. I don't know if they are still making them, but it might be possible that some of the larger dealers have some left.

I had similar ideas and wanted to start with my center and instrument consoles. I posted a request on the forum asking how to prep the plastic because I ran into tons of trouble when I did my C4 and I was surprised when the majority suggested just removing the parts and taking them to a local body repair shop and have them order and match the paint. Well it just so happens that I had to take my car to the local body shop so he could match the paint for my new roof panel (no, not done under the yet to be re-released recall - but done under "customer satisfaction" instead) and I asked him about painting the consoles. He preped them and painted them for free using leftover paint from the roof and then he charged me $100 for removing and replacing them. I promise to post pics soon but I picked the car up on a Friday and left town on business on Sat so as soon as I return this weekend I'll shoot some pics and post them. Even if your the kind of guy who loves to work with his hands this was much easier and less hassle free than doing it yourself. I'm also told that matching DSOM can be a real problem by the DIYS'er. Good luck with whatever you choose to do and I'm certain that you'll love the color everytime you clean her up.
I have a DSOM also and a while ago I order a decal for the hood liner. The seller said it was DSOM but it is definitely Atomic. I did not install it as I felt it was much too noticeable.
well Ill wait on under hood and interior parts..def not something I want to try myself. I am not that talented and would hate to screw it up. Post up some pics when you get a chance I'd love to see how they turned out. Now why I have your attention anybody have a pick with a Black center stripe or black stripes in general. Just toying around with cheap ideas at the moment as I am holding off on mods til my house is finished.
I know someone here had a black stripe going down the middle. Can't remember if it was DSOM or AO though. I considered putting a grey one down my AO car to match the comp grey wheels.
Both are great colors. AO definitely has more "pop" when they are next to each other. Both colors would probably be hard to match due to their depth. When I first saw the C6 it was in DSOM and I wanted a C6 ever since.
For our '06 DSOM vert, we got the interior console trim and also the frc's from GM, a lot of the underhood covers came from RPI Designs and our friend Ed painted the PS cover and air intake.
