on my 08 Z i get the FOB undetected error everytime i get in the car but it always starts. i also have sensors banded into some aftermarket wheels for the fronts. on almost every drive at some point under hard accleraration and or hitting a bump one or maybe both front sensor stop reading and i get the XX in the dic. if i stop the car and turn the engine off then back on then it's perfect. if i drive for some period of time then it will also start reading the sensors again.
my TPMS sensors have been replaced and they are installed properly in the bands. this never occurs to my rear tires which dont utelize bands. it occurs even when i dont have a cell phone in the car or even a phone charger. i do have a pioneer z3 , with a bluetooth module and power amps.
sorry if this sounds dumb but are the tpms sensors and the fob sensors read by the same box, computer or electronic whatchamacallit? will the reprogram of a new FOB or the computer itself erase my tune? i have tune,s/c , coilovers, amps, etc so i want to avoid dealers who might flag my car as being modded and void my remaining warranty? which had happend to a few MB owners with heavily modified cars.
Yes, the FOB and TPMS are both related to the RCDLR module (remote control door lock receiver module). My guess is that when the car was stock, you did not have either of these issues. As for your warranty, if you do not go to a GM dealer, you will not have any warranty performed. If you go to a GM dealer, they may suspect the modifications as being an issue and not perform warranty.
Could easily be that with all the electronic mods to your car, one of the amps, radios, or its added wiring (or its wiring routing) is interfering with the reception at the RCDLR module.
Also, do the TPM sensors banded to the front wheels still have the valve cores installed? I know some models of TPM sensors have trouble with signal if the valve core is removed or blocked... I don't know if that is the case with the C6 modules, but it might be worth checking.

valve cores are attached.....come to think of it there were no issues when the car was stock. unfortunately i did almost all my mods during a very short period of time. i didnt have a problem after my first tune when i did headers, vararam, and ported TB. i did replace the door speakers and had dyna mat put in the doors and floors and trunk areas.
it's just one of those nagging little things that get under my skin that something is not functioning properly with the car. i tend to think that the rcdlr might well be the problem now. i hope so ...
I agree with all the above posts, and calemasters and Kent1999 are spot on with their info about the RCDLRM handling both the fob and the transmissions from the sensor.
FYI, the receiver for the RCDLR is in the center console right behind the radio/nav.
If you did something in that console area with wires that may be running around in the same place as the RCDLR module, you may very well have some interference.
Butt.....your issues with the front sensors is very common with sensors that are mounted with bands/straps deep inside aftermarket wheels. As has been mentioned, it's more common with sensors whose valve stems have been cut off - the valve stem is part of the antenna system of the sensor transmitter.
Your sensors still have the valve stems, but when the sensors are deep inside the wheels the belts in the tire and wheel will attenuate the signal so that it is a much weaker transmission to the TPMS/RCDLRM.
