no, I don't think so. You are talking about the small washers that hold the rotor in place on the assembly line? I am talking about a centering ring that is in the hub of the wheel that makes it fit squarely on the hub. Its a very tight fit, but that ring is removeable. Maybe as an alternative to removing them like I did, sand all of the rust off of the hub and lube it with some wd40 before reinstalling the wheels.
Sanding the rust off definitely helps! That 1/2mm of built up rust makes a difference on the tight fitment of wheels.
I did the sanding and lithium grease. Hopefully these loosen up. Theres no way in the world i could remove these at the track. It takes a while to get them off with the car on my lift.
They sure do look good, i must say, but having to drive around with a torque wrench doesn't make me feel to confident LOL. Got a call in to Luke, who has been helpful. Theres no way in the world this can be normal, or OZ would be out of business.
Turns out OZ had some problems with there die set up on some wheels. Luke at tire rack identified the problem through some research. The wheels are going back, and replacement is unknown yet. I knew i wasn't crazy. Lug pattern is off. Might be lots of scrap wheels out there. I hope not. Luke was doing a inventory check on these as i spoke to him today.
Thanks Luke
