What would you live with (DD)? Supercharged C6 vs Z06?
(it's snowing here, so all of you get to suffer through a vs. thread for the day)
The upfront money to go down either road seems ~ equal.
I think the Z06 wins because stock vs FI in the long run will require less maintenance.
Discuss?

S/C C6 : 4
Z06 : 3

''What would you live with (DD)? Supercharged C6 vs Z06'' quote OP
Well my car is not a DD but gets driven regularly from April till end of Oct. I had that choice of SC or Z06 in 07and I picked Z06
I almost went with a very good well know tuners SC package on my 05 6spM but at the last minute I bought the Z. Issues were cost, resale, and the potential of more added parts more problems+ I just do not like to listen to that SC whine every minute of every mile. My 505HP Z will do anything I ask of it.

Both cars would be greatly "over powered" for just street use. However I would want factory HP and all that goes with that additional HP/PERFORMANCE just to balance it out. So I'd opt for a 100% OEM stock Z06, the perfect balance of acceleration, braking, handling and looks and you can throw in history if that's important to you.
But it's your $$ buy what makes you happy.

A S/C would be the next mod to my '08 Z51 A6 Vert. It has a comfortable ride, decent handling, and fresh air with the top down. With the S/C addition, it would have all the power I'd want. The Z is a great car, but geared more for the track IMHO.

However, our Callaway SC606, has 101 MORE horsepower than the Z06 and if one wanted the roof to lift off or a convertible, those are options one cannot get with the Z06. An automatic transmission is also available on the Callaway, not on the Z06.
On our Callaway, the maintenance costs between stock and what we offer, are not really any different. While the car we have now, has over 22,000 miles (in a matter of months), other than oil changes and a 2nd set of tires, we have not had any other costs associated with the car.
Our last car, we ran to almost 90,000 miles in about a year and a half (then sold it - new owner loves the car!) - No mechanical issues, just tires and oil changes
I noticed your profile lists you as being from OKC. I will be in OKC on Sunday (tomorrow) and if you would like to check out our car, please let me know. Here is a thread with some pics from the road:

I think you are spot on with your math. Our Callaway Grand Sport SC606 (3LT, MN6, etc) car is about the same price as a comparably equipped Z06.

FYI - Be prepared for more of that CO action when you get here. Also if you are going south on I-35 there's construction in the moore/noble area that puts it down to 1-lane. The LEO's are out in force around there too racking up the points. I-40 is pretty clear.

Also Z06s can be had at significant discounts
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-d...y-must-go.html
Add $20,900.00 http://www.callawaycars.com/las/Call...ttePricing.htm to the prices of these,
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-d...y-must-go.html
and that will give you an idea of what a similarly equipped Callaway grand sport would probably run you.
Thus from the looks of that, a bare bones $51,061.00 1LT grand sport, with the 20,900.00 package would run you $71,961.00.
While a 2LZ Z06 would run you $70,538.00.
A 3LZ Z06 would run you :5. Torch Red/Dark Titanium 3LZ Package, Comp Gray Wheels, Navigation
MSRP $84,550 Sale Price $74,368
And a 3LT grand sport would run you: 3. Crystal Red/Cashmere 3LT Package, Manual, Flag Logo Headrest, Full Width Spoiler, Dual Mode Exhaust, Chrome Wheels, Navigation
MSRP $66,425 Sale Price $58,473 plus $20,900 would put you at $79,373.00. Plus any other expenditures such as having the car shipped to and from Callaway.

The calloway 606 is no faster than a stock Z06, despite the "101 hp extra" claim.
"11.0 @ 125 mph*
*Acceleration testing conducted with performance tires."
I report, you decide.

If you want a fixed roof and manual transmission then go with the Z06. I would add a coil over suspension to the Z06 for a better ride though.
If you want a choice of roof and/or transmission then go with a super charged GS or base C6.

You can take the top of of a SC C6 or SC a Vert... I love the Z but taking the top of was the deciding factor when I bought my C6.

Getting ready to do just that. I had headers and A&A kit on my C-6.
Now it since it was so wonderful and problem free. Besides being able to outrun most anything. I decided to add the them to the Z.
S/c'd C-6 is still the cheaper route.
