I'm a complete newbie with corvettes and GM. However not new to cars/muscle cars/sports cars. I have owned 8 mustangs, my last one being an 03 cobra. Finally switched over to the darkside and boy does it feel good. I absolutely love the car, such a fantastic automobile.
I'm posting from my iPhone right now so don't if I can upload any pictures but I'll try and put some up later today.
Looking forward to my stay here and learning more about these cars, mods, etc.
Welcome, Frank! Congrats on your new purchase (I pick up my new Cyber Gray Grand Sport on Tuesday!).
And welcome to the brotherhood! I'll have to say that you've "left" the darkside.... And now you're with the best bunch of guys and gals that you'll meet.
Don't hesitate to jump on and ask your questions here - I learned more in a couple of months here on the forum (when I was in my main learning mode 10 years ago) than anywhere else, and probably knew more about Corvettes than 98% of the Chevy salesmen on showroom floors.
You ought to plan a trip to Bowling Green, KY the weekend (starts on Wed. before) for the biggest Vette party in the country - the Corvette Forum Cruise-In! Usually about 30 kegs and LOTS of fun stuff to do (down at the Corvette Museum, along with plant tours, etc.). Check out the Events section - National - for more info.
Drive it like you stole it!

Reason: update
Quite a drive for me. I'm located in NJ. Defnitely sounds like it would be a good time. I haven't seen too many nj people on here sadly. I also haven't seen many on the roads. Maybe everyone is still hibernating
Haha from where I come from this is the darkside haha
I've got some great friends on both sides, ford, gm and yes even imports. It's not the car that makes the person but the person that makes the car.
Thanks for the warm welcomes, looking forward to summer!
There is a great Corvette show in NJ at the Atlantic City Convention Center April 24,25.
There will be a lot of vendors there as well as some awesome Vettes on display. You will probably meet lots of NJ Vette owners there if you can take a drive down.
Good luck with the car, looking forward to seeing pics.

You'd be surprised how many people come to the Cruise-In from the East Coast. Your main source of local info is in the Events section. Look for the Events Forums tab in the header and look for Northeast - that's where you'll find all the local action is and where people are getting together for road trips, lunches, etc. That's the best way to meet other Vette people and share fun and info.
I used to live in Pittsburgh and did a few things locally, but once I found out about the Events section, then moved back to Chicago, I immediately had about 20 "friends" to hang with and most are very close friends to this day.

Agree! It's all about the people. One of my "local" friends is the Truck Manager for a Chicago area Ford dealer - his forum name is TruckGuy. Another is Mopar Jimmy. So yes, it's all about the people, and "most" of the jabs people give about other cars, i.e. Stangs is just in fun.
Congratulations Frank, and I love your color choice. I too used to be a Mustang guy, and took the Corvette leap two years ago. I wish I would have done it sooner! Welcome to the board.
Congrats on what sounds like a beautiful Corvette. When you get a chance, post some pics and fill in your forum profile so we can learn a little more about you. Welcome.
