Default Touch up Paint

Hey Guys Hello to all.......Just got my 2009 Coupe in Cyber Grey and of course I love it......Bought it with under 2000 miles from a guy that HAD to have a 2010 Grand Sport......But I guess I'll eventually need to touch up what is now an immaculate paint job...Go to the dealer or to a parts store?? Is one as good as the other?? Thanks in advance for your unbelievably expert opinions...............

Welcome to the forum and the family. Congratulations on your new Corvette. Any GM parts counter can get you touch up paint to match with your VIN. You can also get it via a very good online source called Automotive Touch up from this link.

Maybe a few tip's that will help. The touch up paint from the dealer is usually Dupli-Color brand glossy lacquer and doen't require a clear top coat to shine. Paint from the online places is usually factory two part urethane, and will need a top clear coat. Your paint code's the last numbers on you glove box sticker. BC/CC(base coat/clear coat) U(upper) 8555(black on my car). Just add "WA" and it's officially WA8555 in the industry. If your car was two tone, there'd be an L(lower) code too. I've found the place "talon90" mentioned to be a good one. Hope this help's.

There are other great sites out there too. I agree, dealer paint isn't as high-quality as you'd think (even tho they have the name of your car on the building). Shop around online, maybe you'll find a better deal
