I say good for him. He's found a way to combine and enjoy two of his hobbies. Shame to deprive yourself of a perfectly good Corvette driving day to go spend some time on the water. He's found a way to do both.
Nothing wrong with it. The Corvette frame is MORE than sturdy enough to be completely able to handle a light trailer like that.
Not everyone has the money or garage space to have a specialized vehicle for every task.
if its within the car's abilities, that is great! He should have done it with the top off! Guys in vettes always tow tire trailers to the track, this is no different, maybe even better.
if it was a 1989 Toyota Tacoma with the words "IN TOW" on the back window, thatd be a different story.
My brother welded a homemade hitch for his '89 Toyota MR2 with 3sgte swap. It was his only car, and sure made moving around his track tools and household furniture around. And that thing pulled it like a champ!

I've always wanted to beef up a viper suspension and tow a an RV with the V10. JUST BECAUSE! =P
I don't know... I don't hate him for it. Kind of badazz in a way. "I can blow your doors off in a race, and then hook up my trailer and haul my seadoos to the lake!"
I'm a little jaded cause the prior owner of my SWC drilled into perfectly good OE bumpers to bolt on a trailer hitch! This guy did it differently, so point to him.
Oh, and the lake lice thingy also brings back (many) bad incidents.....

Nothing wrong I can see. Sorry, in the end it is JUST A CAR. Rather see someone actually using it instead of keeping it as a depreciating museum piece. I thoroughly enjoy my vette and keeping it nice, and do a pretty good job for a daily driver.
I can see it. I guess this guy's Vette is a daily driver. I have a secondary vehicle, like most Vette owners. Oh well, when his car slips into the water while loading or unloading, don't ask why.
