Why would you do covers when you could powder coat for not a lot more? And they look way better. Contact Mike the Powder Coater (Corvette Pilot). He turned mine around in a week. They are unbelievable.

Ferrari Owners dont take Corvette owners seriously because they didnt pay $220k for their car. It's as simple as that. You want them to take you seriously?...buy a ZR1. I don't care at all about what Ferrari owners think about my car when I drive up next to them. On the other hand they are probably thinking they spent too much money because I get just as many 'oohhs and ahhhs' as them whereas I only spent a little more than 20% of the price they paid, and I can drive daily.

I think the societies out there of Corvette owners/enthusiasts are because we can do many things to our cars to make them unique. Some of those mods may not be your favorite, but someone else might love it.

What the hell is a caliper cover and why would you want one? The caliper on my Z06 is enormous and looks amazing. Why cover it?

Because...the caliper covers are much bigger than stockers, and are made to give the impression that they are a BIG BRAKE system.

'Back in he day', they use to run phony disc brake 'disks' to cover the stock brake drums.

After looking at a lot of pics, I think the caliper covers and the painted/powdercoated stockers BOTH look a little cheesy. Z06 brakes and other BBKs put them both to shame.

Caliper Covers are not only cheese they are a big stinking slab of Limburger.

Take a world class sports car and turn it into a ricer that gets laughed at at stop lights.

Both the STi and Evo had pretty bad caliper covers.

How possibly does covering a caliper help it dissipate heat? I doesn't. It retains the heat and prevents it from radiating away.

I'm not up on Subarus or Evos, so am not aware of what brakes they come with...so maybe I should have said Civics and ..............something else...it was just a reference to the standard little japanese car with big wheels and a fart can muffler and a 16 year old behind the wheel. Caliper covers fit in with that look very nicely.

O.K, you have , what $10,000 in mods done to your car, that you will never get back in resale. And your worried about $200 caliper covers?. Your the man. Keep talking about mods you don't like. Please tell us what is acceptable to you.

Gotcha, just wanted you to be aware that the vehicles mentioned come with the brakes that those putting caliper covers on are trying to look like.

Oddly enough, I can honestly say I'd never even heard of caliper covers until I got around this community. . . I still don't believe people put these on their cars.

I'm not concerned about the resale price of my car at all. What I spent was expendable income. My car purchase was not an investment undertaking. What the cost of mods I did to my car has nothing to do with the topic of "fake, phoney fraud" clip on caliper covers. And as I posted they will actually hurt the performance of the car somewhat. And it seems that the vast majority of those who here(any many other phoney caliper adornment threads) posted think they're ridiculous so you and the others who want to clip on have at it. But know this, they are being laughed at by most real car people. But maybe you are fooling some who know nothing about cars into believing you have a BBK. Wear them proudly.
