Default 05' headlight Issue..

So my drivers side lowbeam is having issues. When I turn the car on both lights will work fine however if the car is running and I turn the lights off and then back to the on position only the passenger light will come on?!?! Should I bother replacing the bulbs or could it be a more sinister issue? Thanks in advance.

I did not check the service manual, but I believe there are 2 headlamp relays. One relay for the left lamp and one relay for the right lamp. I supposed the relays are in the under hood electrical center. You may have a bad relay or some corrision on the relay terminals, due to moisture.

Nate,

Did you fix your problem? I am having a similar problem. Only my driver side low beam will turn on, when I turn on headlights (car running or in accessory mode). First, I thought it was a bad bulb (seems most likely). I discovered today that both low beams turn on, when I press the UNLOCK button on my key fob. Both lights stay on for about a minute. It appears that my low beam bulbs are fine. It must be something different in the circuit between turning on the headlights and the alarm system unarming, which in turn energizes both low beams for a minute. There is one mini-relay that handles both low beams, and there are two fuses (one for each low beam).

If you have any resolution to your issue, please post.

Before I bought my '05, it had a ballast replaced on one of the headlights under warranty. I didn't see the cost but I bet is isn't cheap.

I'd certainly think that replacing a bulb would be the cheap thing to do first. I hope that is all it is..keep us informed!

Yes, I did I had the ballast replaced. Since it wasn't under warranty, I just bought a used one from someone on the forums and had it installed. a new one is going to run you about 240.00.
