Count me as another of the many DSVettes fans. Gerardo ond Lino are first-rate in every regard. Their stuff isn't cheap but top quality never is. It sometimes takes awhile to be delivered but that's because everything is custom crafted by hand. DSV is simply the best.

I will be ordering a shifter ****, boot and e-brake boot in ebony w/titanium stitching this coming monday or tues. This post is good to know that I am dealing with a vendor who has great customer service.

Does anyone know if the '08 shifter boot comes from DSvettes with that chrome plastic ring?????
I pulled mine off on accident thinking the screw was underneath there when I was changing my shifter. Turns out that you have to unscrew the chrome piece on the '08's and up, the set screw isnt revealed by pulling the leather boot down on the '08 and up.
I was gonna call DSvettes tomorrow but if someone can tell me now that would be perfect.

My understanding is that the chrome ring is part of the console trim piece, not the shifter boot. I ordered both parts from DSV; the ring was attached to the console bezel, not to the boot.

Are we referring to the same piece? My leather boot was attached to that chrome ring that screws into the shifter **** itself. It appears as if it was stapled into it and then installed as one piece.

I just called DS Vettes... The chrome piece doesnt come with the DS boot, instead they (dsvettes) use a small rubber ring which gives the boot a tight fit underneath the shifter ****. So that chrome ring from the OEM boot is not needed. That gave me relief since ordering these upgraded item(s) were to replace the damaged OEM shifter boot in the first place.
Just posting this incase anyone wanted to know and/or has the same problem as me.
