So, last night I start the car and my "check engine" light comes on. I'm not sure why and I'm not sure how to handle it. I have a Predator tune on my car and I'm wondering if I should take the tune off before bringing it into the dealer. I've never taken my car to a dealer.

If you are going to "take the tune off" as you say before going to the dealer so the dealer doesn't know it's been re-tuned, that won't work.
They'll know..... they can tell.
As for the gas cap mentioned above, it's a very likely cause. Only problem, I don't think that once you but the cap back on properly that the light will go out. I am pretty sure it needs to be reset.....
Guess you didn't know that your Predator progammer is also a pretty nice OBDII scan tool, and able to pull up trouble code's. I'd perform a scan before doing anything else. As mentioned earlier, if it's dealer time, defintely pull out the custom tune, or you'll lose it if the dealer re-flashes the ECU.
Thanks. I did get a Loose Gas Cap message the other day. It went away after a couple of minutes. That must be the problem. I'll go check it as soon as the sun comes up.
I just went out and checked my gas cap. It was very loose. The Check Engine light is still on. Does this mean that I need to take it to the dealer to be reset?

I think it takes a few 'trips' for the CEL to reset if that was the problem - it probably needs to have the conditions right to run the EVAP system test again. Are you able to do a scan to see if that's really what the code is for?
